About Anahata Yoga Leeds

Anahata Yoga Leeds is a large rustic studio space based in an old mill at the heart of Farsley in Leeds. Founded by myself (Sarah), a resident here in the village, my aim is to create an open, inclusive and welcoming space for EVERYONE to enjoy yoga.

I want the studio to become a community hub with something for everyone to enjoy without the pressures of feeling like you have tick the stereotypical yogi box. Yoga is a journey very specific to the individual and my goal is to have something to support everyone on that journey. From beginners to experienced, pre and post natal, parent and baby and children, the studio welcomes you all.

Our Teachers
Sarah
Sarah is the owner of Anahata Yoga Leeds. She found yoga many years ago whilst juggling the pressures of a hectic life as a working Mum in London. Yoga allowed her to find some balance and finally begin to enjoy life a little more. She completed her training here in Leeds taking a 200hr Vinyasa qualification. Since then she has continued to learn and is now a 300hr Yoga Alliance certified teacher adding pre & post natal yoga, children’s yoga and yoga for trauma & addiction to the classes she offers.

Her classes are a reflection of her fun and laid back personality, allowing you to enjoy your practice at your pace.
Emma
Emma leads our Wednesday evening Yin Yang Balance sessions. Offering a lovely vinyasa flow followed by some gentle Yin.

When not teaching yoga Emma is a high school teacher.

With qualifications in Vinyasa, hatha, meditation & pranayama and yin she is well qualified to look after your yoga needs.

Emma has spent some time living in Sri Lanka where she loved to surf. She is passionate about sharing yoga with others and helping them find their flow.
Kate
Kate has been teaching yoga since since the beginning of 2021 after completing her Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training with Jamie Blowers throughout 2020.

She found her yoga practice by chance, around 5 years ago and quickly found that she enjoyed the vigorous nature and the routine of an Ashtanga class. Yoga not only helped Kate to build strength and flexibility, it has also provided her with a way to quiet my ever-racing mind!

Join Kate on Monday Morning for your ashtanga fix.
Lucy
Lucy decided to take her teacher training to deepen her own practice but soon discovered that she loved working with and teaching other people.
She is trained to teach vinyasa, Yin, Restorative and Nidra.
She loves bringing a sense of calm and strength to people's day and you can find her in the studio on Thursday's teaching Yin Yang at 12.15pm
Katie
Recently relocated to Leeds after living and teaching in Sri Lanka, Katie is a qualified yoga teacher and personal trainer.

A daily practice has been part of her life for many years.

Leading our Saturday Morning sessions her classes are strong and playful but at the same time grounding and nourishing with options for all.

Katie also teaches meditation and mandala drawing sessions.
